- The "Data Collection" dialog allows the user to specify how packets
-
- are collected. There are five options:
-
-
-
- * Slice size: allows the user to specify how many bytes of data
-
- will be saved for each Ethernet packet collected. For example,
-
- if the user specifies 40 as the slice size, only the first 40
-
- bytes of data within the Ethernet packet will be saved.
-
-
-
- * Always turn off network driver: NetMinder Ethernet
-
- will disable the current network driver whenever the
-
- program is started.
-
-
-
- * Always ignore network driver: NetMinder Ethernet will ignore
-
- the current network driver whenever the program is started. If
-
- you are connected to Ethernet, use these options if you would like
-
- to avoid the dialog that appears when NetMinder Ethernet starts.
-
-
-
- * Stop collection when buffer full: This option disables NetMinder
-
- Ethernet's circular collection buffer. Use this option to stop
-
- collection when packet data will be overwritten.
-
-
-
- * Display headers during collection: Checking this option will
-
- cause NetMinder Ethernet to display packet headers in real-time
-
- during collection. This option is only available if the "Stop
-
- collection when buffer full" option is enabled.
